Hello Everbody!

This week we are working on adjectives + adverbs and comparative + superlative structures (comparing one thing to another, or comparing one thing to many things). So let’s talk about how our hometowns are different (or similar) to New York City by listing 3 things (or more!) that you find fascinating or strange or really cool about New York City…

I’ll go first…

1) New York is much bigger than Montreal and people move at a faster pace.

2) Montreal is much colder and snowier than New York (so stop complaining about the weather here!)

3) New Yorkers are more outspoken and weirder than Montrealers… last week I saw a man walking down the street with an ENORMOUS snake on his shoulders!

… your turn!

1.Taipei is as busily as New York and a lot of people work more eight hours a day.

2.Taipei is much hotter than New York. It never snow in Taipei but sometimes it might snow in the highest mountain in Taiwan.

3.The varieties of food in Taipei are as many as New York. If you are a gourmet, Taiwan is the country you must go.

Quiz..Does this word “gastronome” mean gourmet?
Is there any word mean someone who like eating delicious food?

    Hi Teddy,
If Taipei gets hotter than New York then I don’t want to visit Taipei in the summertime!!!!
You are right.. a “gastronome” is a “gourmet”–somebody who knows about, understands, and likes good food. Both words mean somebody who appreciates fine food.
    Are you a gourmet?
